Suggestions for Creating Change

We all know athletes must train to improve. Our brains are no different. There are exercises for manifesting the Law of Attraction. With these exercises the person with the most clarity wins. To be most effective that clarity needs to focus on the values and beliefs you want to exhibit. Too often people focus on what they want. This approach puts the cart before the horse and often results in attracting things that end up leaving a person with an empty feeling. First be the person who will attract the things you desire. Then, have faith in the order of the universe to deliver what you want. Sometimes you will find that your desires change as you develop your belief system and values. The Law of Attraction is the transformation of yourself into something greater, rather than the accumulation of earthly goods. A key is to stop self sabotage (limiting beliefs...

Stretching: Fact and Fiction

Stretching has been the target of much bad information. As a child we were always told to stretch before exercise or athletic events. I remember seeing pro athletes on TV getting into a stretch position and bouncing as if they were a bobble head toy.. Even as a child, I knew my body did not like the stretches I was often asked to do by coaches and teachers. I understood flexibility was a good thing. It simply did not feel as though stretching was the way to gain flexibility. In fact, the opposite appeared to be true. It was not until I was in my 20’s and took ballet classes that demanded a lot of stretching that I had my first pulled muscles. The stretching that was required in ballet helped me gain flexibility, it also led to injury. It was about a decade later that I began to understand what...

Forbes Magazine Chiropractic and Medicare

April 20, 2014 Forbes online printed an article by Steven Salzberg that attempted to make the point that chiropractic has no basis and should be removed from the Medicare system. His byline is, “I cover pseudoscience and bad medicine, and sometimes good medicine.” Ironically, Salzberg appears to have been compelled to resort to pseudoscience himself. In great part his argument for banning chiropractic is the anecdotal evidence of two disgruntled former chiropractors. There is a device known as the straw man argument. This is defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary as, “a weak or imaginary argument or opponent that is set up to be easily defeated.” Wikipedia defines it as, “a common type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on the misrepresentation of the original topic of argument. To be successful, a straw man argument requires that the audience be ignorant or uninformed of the original argument.” Salzberg uses the straw man...

Autoimmune disease

Most people do not understand what autoimmune disease is. Yet, about one out of every six U.S. citizens has an autoimmune disease (AID). No other place on earth has such a large proportion of diagnosed  AID citizens. More than 75% of those diagnosed with an AID are women.  Over 150 diseases have been classified as autoimmune. Most people buy into the belief that AID is a case of the brain and body going crazy and attacking itself. In reality, the immune system is just doing the job it has been programmed to do, clean up dead and damaged cells and their fragments. This cell death, scientific name necrosis, is the result of chronic inflammation, infection, toxicity, and/or even nutritional excess or deficiency. Many times the necrotic cells make up organs or glands. These dead cells are released into the living matrix where the body has many methods of cleaning them up...

Your PIP Rights in an auto collision

If you are in an auto collision, you need to know this! I am writing this paper because I find many of the practice members in our chiropractic office have a lot of confusion about PIP. PIP is the Personal Injury Protection provision of your auto insurance policy. It is used when a person is injured in an automobile collision, and it pays: medical bills for up to 3 years or when the amount on the policy is reached, it pays a portion of your lost wages, the larger your PIP coverage, the more it pays, and, it even pays for household services if you are too injured to perform them. Often people do not know who their PIP insurance covers. By definition the policy covers: The person named on the insurance and all household members, persons who have permission to use that car, step children and foster children, and non-family...
