Thrive, Don’t Just Survive!
From it’s beginning in 1895 chiropractic focused on physical, chemical, and emotional stress. However, as the years passed chiropractic became simplified, not just in the eyes of the public, but also in the eyes of many chiropractors. Today many people think of chiropractic as a simple “crack the back” profession. A Chiropractic Lifestyle acknowledges the importance of all three stress categories (not just the spine), and attempts to resolve all three categories of stress.
My greatest challenge as a chiropractor is to communicate the importance of all three stresses:
- Physical, such as a fall or repetitive stress injury,
- chemical, which may be bad food or medications,
- and emotional, which may be any stressful situation.
The chiropractic adjustment may correct any of the three stresses by reducing or eliminating spinal subluxation. However, there are times when only the physical stress is corrected by the adjustment. Other stresses may be present in the nervous system and cause subluxations in the spine to recreate themselves no matter how many times a person is adjusted. This is the time when a Chiropractic Lifestyle is the difference between a patient healing, or not.
How Do I Know Your Lifestyle Stressors?
When a chiropractic adjustment is not enough to restore function to the nervous system, then a person’s inborn healing ability is not restored. Then the underlying causes to the spinal subluxation must be found. I use techniques that have evolved out of the Applied Kinesiology field to help find those causes and restore optimal nervous system function. Those techniques utilize muscle testing.
Muscle testing works because our bodies are electric. Sometimes, often times, we spring an energy leak. Then our electrical energy can escape. As energy leaks out the electrical system becomes weaker. The core of our electrical system is the nervous system. The nervous system is our brain, spinal cord and all of the nerves throughout the rest of the body. Everything we experience in life we experience through our nervous system, EVERYTHING! When we are leaking energy, we lose the ability to function at an optimal level. The nervous system becomes short-circuited and muscle testing can show where the energy leaks are, and then I use computerized nervous system scans to objectify those findings.
How Do I Know What Lifestyle is Right for You?
A short-circuited nervous system loses its inborn healing ability. It may be physical, chemical, or emotional stress that causes this loss. Muscle testing allows me to pinpoint which energies are leaking. I check for:
- nutritional excess or deficiency,
- toxic overload,
- electromagnetic pollution,
- trapped emotional stress,
- allergy or sensitivity energy leaks,
- in addition to testing for subluxations of the spine.
A Chiropractic Lifestyle means making choices that allow a person to keep nutritional excess or deficiency, toxic overload, electromagnetic pollution, trapped emotional stress, and allergy or sensitivity energy leaks, and spinal subluxation from causing symptoms and conditions that the body’s innate healing wisdom cannot resolve.
In short a Chiropractic Lifestyle means you eat well, move well, and think well. The better your food is, the more physical activity you get, and the better your thoughts are the better you get to feel. And, with a chiropractic lifestyle your adjustments will be more effective.
What Next?
The reason for the thorough evaluation of six areas is that the results I get allow me to guide a person to the lifestyle changes that are appropriate for them. Because every person is different, each lifestyle program must be different. Once I know what is right for you we can get to work on correcting the things that are preventing you from feeling as well as you would like.
Being well all starts with the nervous system functioning well. So, a Chiropractic Lifestyle starts with chiropractic adjustments. Then we figure out whether supplements are needed for support. Surveys help us to assess what foods are right for you. Advice on posture and safe efficient movement are added to the mix. Effective methods are used in the office, and supplied for home use if buried emotional stresses need to be eliminated.
In the end your nervous system will better comprehend your environment. It will adapt to the environment in a constructive manner rather than a symptomatic way. Today life has become more pathologically stressful than ever before. This is evidenced by the ever-increasing number of suicide by lifestyle diseases. These include almost all of the ailments that are common today. If you want to avoid being one of those statistics, then a Chiropractic Lifestyle is for you.
